What’s it all about?

This is a course for students who have enjoyed and been successful whilst studying GCSE Maths and/or business, and are looking to study financial systems and markets on a variety of different scales, from local to international

Your personal and academic skills will benefit tremendously from this course; the ability to hold mature and balanced discussions, essay-writing skills, financial and statistical analysis, problem-solving, independent study and research, as well as to become aware of global markets, governance and production.

A-Level Economics will excite your minds, challenge your perceptions and stimulate your investigative and analytical skills.

The Economics course would be particularly beneficial if studied alongside any of the following subjects: business, mathematics, IT, physics or geography.

You will need 5 GCSEs at grade 5-9, including Maths & English Language.

English and Maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your dream career. If you have not already achieved grade 9-4 in GCSE Maths and/ or English at school, we will support you to improve your skills.

What’s next?

With an A-Level in Economics you will develop a wide range of employability skills and a world-view of economic and political issues; helping you stand out in the labour market.

Economics is a highly desirable and valued subject, with strong links to many careers in a variety of different sectors, such as accountancy, financial services, international relations, banking and business consultancy.

You could also go on to study an Economics related degree at university, specialising in whatever area you’re particularly interested in – you could choose to continue to study economics as a whole, or opt to narrow your route towards a designated career such as accountancy, business or finance, the choice is yours!
