This bootcamp is designed for students who want to develop their knowledge and skills of Networking and Cyber security.
Students on this programme will learn skills in the following:
- Network Infrastructures
- Networking Hardware
- Protocols and Services
There are no set entry requirements however candidates must be over the age of 18.

During the programme you will learn how to do different tasks by being taught in a selection of ways including:

By the end of the bootcamp you will be proficient in a wide range of areas, allowing you to progress into a range of industries using up to date technology.
Students can enrol onto this programme even if you are yet to achieve Maths and English however we would recommend enrolling onto 'Test the City' at Sunderland College to be able to obtain these qualifications.
There is no placement attached to this course however we do work very closely with Sunderland Software City which will mean you will engage with local employers.
This course has close local links to industry and this will be used throughout the course.
Students will need to do some studying outside of the classroom to ensure that they are making good progress.
This programme is recognised by the department for education as part of the Digital Bootcamp Initiave.
This course will run 1 day a week on campus and is flexible to work to outside commitments.
During the programme students will study 1 module which covers the following content:
- Network Infrastructures including:
- LANs
- WANs
- MAN’s
- VLAN’s
- Wireless technology
- Network designing
- Networking Hardware including:
- Switch Configuration
- Router configuration
- Server types and configuration
- Protocols and Services including:
- IPV4 configuration
- IPV6 configuration
- OSI models and TCP/IP Models
- DNS, WINS network resolution
- DHCP, NAT, firewall and VPN configuration
This will then prepare you to complete a Microsoft professional certification.
