Do you have a keen interest in finding out about how businesses work and enjoy study that is based on realistic workplace situations? This course will equip you with the practical skills and knowledge of the business environment preparing you for higher education.
This vocational course is highly practical in nature and includes a mixture of internally assessed coursework and controlled assignments, as well as externally assessed examinations.
It offers you the opportunity to learn about the key business functions such as marketing, finance and human resource management through focused assignments based on real business scenarios, giving you hands-on experience of businesses in action.
You will develop an understanding of business concepts and theories by applying them to practical situations.
You will need 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and Maths.

English and Maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your dream career. If you have not already achieved grade 9-4 in GCSE Maths and/ or English at school, we will support you to improve your skills.

Past students have progressed on to university courses, often in business related subjects such as accounting, marketing, management and human resources. The units covered lend themselves well to progression onto degree courses in business, marketing and law but previous students have gone on to study a wide range of other subjects.
Previous students have who have chosen to go directly into employment have taken up careers in areas such as management trainee programmes, retail, business administration apprenticeships or alternatively parallel careers in, for example, local government, health care, or law.
