Aspiring music producer, engineer, songwriter, composer? Developed in consultation with employers this course provides you with the skills required to work in this sector of the music industry. The course largely focuses on taking musical ideas and turning them into full realised productions by taking students through practical, creative and technical modules.
Students develop skills using industry standard software Apple’s Logic Pro X by producing bespoke compositions for film or games and by exploring their own musical interests. Working with music performance students you will learn all about how a recording studio operates and what it takes to work as a sound engineer recording bands and the mixing and mastering process. You will also undertake a commercial music production developing the technical skills required to produce hit records.
Equivalent to one A-level the course prepares students for university study by developing academic skills through consistent reflection of practical work, research projects, collaborative and independent learning and analytical skills
You will need 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and Maths.
