What’s it all about?

The T Level in Health offers an unparalleled pathway for students passionate about a career in healthcare. This qualification provides a robust foundation in essential healthcare practices, combining both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Students will engage in comprehensive learning modules covering person-centred care, communication, teamwork, and reflective evaluation, alongside core scientific concepts relevant to health.

The programme includes a substantial industry placement, ensuring real-world experience and application of skills. Specialisation options allow students to tailor their studies, such as supporting the adult nursing team, which includes assisting with clinical tasks, supporting daily living activities, and skin integrity assessments. This course is ideal for those who are eager to make a meaningful impact in the nursing profession.

You will need 5 GCSEs at grades 5-9, including Maths & English Language and Science.

The core element of the T Level in Health will boost your knowledge in a range of topics such as the principles of good scientific and clinical practice, as well as fundamental scientific concepts alongside an understanding of standard operating procedures, management of equipment and work areas, stock control and storage, and the importance of quality standards and health and safety. You will also learn how to manage data in a healthcare setting.

Your occupational specialism will cover all aspects of adult nursing including physiological readings and how to care for service users in different settings and with different needs. Practical practice sessions will be carried out in our 3 bed Health Hub and assisted living area.

Core knowledge is assessed through a combination of written exams and an employer-set project. Specialist knowledge and skills are assessed through a combination of a written exam and practical projects.

GCSE Maths and English are vital stepping stones for your academic and professional journey. Achieving a good grade in these subjects not only fulfills most college entry requirements but also equips you with essential skills critical in almost every field. Our T-Level courses combine classroom learning with hands-on industry experience, providing you with the skills and knowledge highly valued by employers. You'll spend 80% of your time on academic studies and 20% on a 45-day work placement, totalling over 315 hours of practical exposure. This balance ensures a comprehensive understanding of your field and enhances your professional skills.

You can arrange your own placement or use our student placement team's expertise. This mandatory component prepares you for real career challenges and opportunities as you transition from student to professional.

This T Level in supporting the Adult Nurse is specifically for those who wish to pursue a career in Nursing, the normal progression route following successful completion of this course would be onto a Nursing degree

T Levels are the equivalent to achieving 3 A-Levels and will be worth UCAS points. For example, a T Level Distinction* is worth the same as 3 A-Levels at A*.

The qualification will be recognised by universities and other education providers for students who wish to further their studies.

Additionally, they are well-prepared for employment roles including healthcare support worker, senior healthcare assistant, or nursing associate within the NHS or private healthcare settings.
