Biology is the science of life and living organisms, ranging from the study of molecular mechanisms in cells to the classification and behaviour of organisms, how species evolve and interaction between ecosystems. As students progress through their course they will develop their understanding of the fundamentals of biology, applying their knowledge in the investigation of topics including body systems, biochemistry, genetics and biotechnology. The practical endorsement will also support the development of practical skills.
You will need 5 GCSEs at grade 5-9, a grade 6 in Maths alongside Combined Science Grade 6 or Biology and another Science at grade 6.

Almost all of our students who complete the A-Level Biology course go on to enter Higher Education. biology, biomedical science and healthcare-allied degrees are popular destinations, while other students embark on a wide range of science, social science and arts courses.
