The Extended Diploma is equivalent to three A-Levels. It is a complete programme and is therefore not taken with any other course.
Having an understanding and interest in arts and the culture of arts will benefit you personally and professionally.
You will need 4 GCSE's at grade 4-9, including Maths, English and Art & Design. Or a relevant Level 2 qualification.

Primarily, you will learn through practical lessons in studios.
You will find out what is happening in the world of art by visiting galleries, museums and exhibitions.
Additionally, further independent contextual research will be encouraged.
The course is 100% internally set and assessed through multidisciplinary practice.
You will learn a variety of different styles and technical skills through highly practical, project-based learning.
English and Maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your dream career. If you have not already achieved grade 9-4 in GCSE Maths and/or English at school, we will support you to improve your skills.

You can expect to study modules including:
- Visual language in art and design
- Drawing and painting skills
- Print and photography
- Fashion textiles
- Digital Art
As part of your assessment, you will undertake projects that will allow you to utilise the various skills acquired throughout the course.
Pearson
On completion of this course, you could progress to further study or training in digital art, continuing to Higher Education in Art and Design, Photography or Graphic Design.
