Our Level 3 course offers an immersive experience designed to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge for success in the dynamic music industry. You'll engage in a series of live performances at renowned local venues, including The Georgian Theatre and The Studio, honing your stage presence and performance techniques. The curriculum encompasses practical music theory, harmony, and ensemble performance, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of musical foundations. Beyond performance, you'll delve into the intricacies of the music industry and professional practice, fostering both creative and organisational proficiencies.
Our approach emphasises reflective practice, research projects, and both collaborative and independent learning, preparing you for higher education and a thriving career in music. Designed to be studied alongside other subjects, this course provides a balanced and comprehensive educational experience. You will need 5 GCSEs at grade 4-9, including English and Maths.

You will be taught through a series of lectures, workshops and practical demonstrations.

Assessment will be carried out through live performance, compositions, music notation and academic submissions.

English and Maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your dream career.

If you have not already achieved grades 9-4 in GCSE Maths and/or English at school, we will support you to improve your skills.

Our A Level programmes allow you to choose multiple subjects, enabling you to study 3–4 A Levels over two years or combine them with equivalent vocational qualifications, with each subject taught for 4 hours and 30 minutes per week across three separate lessons and your timetable determined by your chosen subjects (provided at the start of the academic year).
Although you are not required to be on campus when you do not have a timetabled lesson, we strongly recommend making effective use of our learning facilities and resources during these periods to stay on top of your work.

You will study modules including:

- Practical Music Theory and Harmony
- Music Performance Session Styles
- Professional Practice in the Music Industry
- Ensemble Music Performance

What’s next?

Upon completing this course, you’ll be well-prepared to pursue higher education in music, such as degrees in performance, music technology, or music industry studies. Alternatively, you can enter the music industry directly, with potential roles including performer, songwriter, producer, sound engineer, or music teacher. The course equips you with a blend of practical skills and theoretical knowledge, opening diverse pathways in both further education and employment within the music sector.
