This course is designed for learners aged 18 or over, who wish to develop their knowledge of equality and diversity. It is ideal for those who are employed, who wish to study the programme as part of their own continuous professional development or for those who wish to improve their understanding to increase their opportunities of finding work.

The qualification aims to provide learners’ with a comprehensive overview on the issues surrounding equality and diversity whilst developing knowledge of their organisation or the society they live in. Learners will explore issues of inequality, stereotyping and discrimination in society or employment whilst reviewing their own community or workplace. Knowledge will also be developed on the subject or rights and responsibilities along with raising awareness of the legislation that surrounds and supports equality and diversity.

You will be added to our Equal platform where you will receive log in details and have access to all course resources and be allocated your own personal tutor who you can contact throughout your studies. You will be required to work through a series of tasks and activities designed to reinforce the learning process and demonstrate your knowledge. (This qualification is also available paper-based on request)

It is recommended that you are working to a level 1-2 for English to complete this course.

This course will link into all working environments.

This is a distance learning course, study time is flexible so you can fit your learning around your lifestyle.

This course is split into three manageable units, covering topics such as:

- The value to communities in creating and maintaining a diverse environment
- The effects of stereotyping and labelling
- How equality and diversity is monitored in the workplace
- The potential inequality that can occur within a community.

Assessment 3 - Equality and Diversity in the workplace
