Wellfield School
Lucy has strong ambitions to become a physiotherapist ands now studying Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation at Teesside University.
An avid sportswoman, Lucy has relished both the academic and sporting opportunities she’s experienced while studying at the sixth form.
She said:
“I have loved every minute at Hartlepool Sixth Form. The teachers are good and really help and support you, there’s a good mix of working hard and playing hard, so you definitely get the right balance.
I’ve had so many opportunities to develop myself. Gaining leadership skills and practical experience has really enhanced my career opportunities. During my time at sixth form, I’ve worked at Wellfield School delivering PE lessons and also coached the after school rugby team.”
Lucy, who started playing rugby in year 10 at school, now plays for Horden and Peterlee Ladies’ Rugby Football Team. One of the best moments she had at the sixth form was getting to play rugby with the All Blacks, which she said was really inspiring.
The best thing at Hartlepool Sixth Form was that the teachers go out of their way to help you. There was always a good atmosphere around campus.
