Jamie progressed to study Digital Film Production at the University of Greenwich and has since embarked on an Erasmus year in Prague, Czech Republic where she studied at the FAMU film school.
Jamie described her time at Hartlepool Sixth Form as supportive, fulfilling and hilarious. Not long before starting with us, she re-located back to the area and after visiting a number of colleges decided that Hartlepool Sixth Form was the best option for her.
She said:
“The staff were instantly supportive and made clear that they would make every effort to support me through my studies – a promise I can wholeheartedly say they fulfilled in every possible way.
I thought the campus was really lovely, I definitely felt safe. There was generally a good atmosphere. Facilities were always clean and well maintained.
Business was my favourite subject. I found that I was able to produce a better quality of work from the way the course was structured, there was less pressure as there was a clear plan of what needed to be achieve and when, as opposed to relying on the outcome of an exam. I felt I had more control over the work I produced.
I had the most kind, loving tutors who not only pushed me and looked out for me, but genuinely made me laugh so hard every day for two years.”
The best thing about studying English literature was definitely the teaching. Not only were the classes engaging, I always knew my teacher would go out of their way to support me.
